- In the main menu point "Products" select the product group "Inductive proximity switches" and the respective overview page is shown.
- Via the link "Selector (dynamic product search)" the new product search feature is activated.
Remarks:
- For this product search JavaScript must be activated in your browser!
- The selector has two parts: In the upper part you can indicate the search criteria and in the lower part the result list of your search is displayed.
- When the selector is opened, short installation instructions are displayed in the lower part.
- These instructions can be displayed at any time by pressing the button
.
Search example:
Inductive sensor with metal housing, 2 mm sensing range, connector, DC PNP, 3 wires
- You can now select these criteria in any order in the upper window by clicking.
- Selected criteria are displayed in bold letters (Internet Explorer) or in orange (Netscape).
- Every additional criterion selected makes the list of search results shorter.
- The list of results is only displayed for less than 80 products.
- If you would like to see it before, click on the button
in the upper part.
- The criteria which cannot be selected because of previously selected criteria are deactivated (highlighted in grey and crossed out).
- This is how you can find out immediately whether you have excluded a criterion which is important for you by the criteria selected so far.
- If this is the case, you can deselect any criterion selected so far by clicking on it once again or by replacing it by a criterion of the same group!
- After the selection of "Material: Metal", "Sensing range: up to 2 mm", "Wires: 3-wire", "Connection: Plug and socket", "Output: DC PNP" a result list of approx. 30 units is displayed
- You can now specify in more details what kind of connector you prefer, e.g. "M12".
- Click on "M12" in "Connection".
- The selected criterion "Connection: Plug and socket" is now replaced by "Connection: M12". The list is reduced to approx. 24 units.
- Let us now assume that you would like to use the sensor in an application with high electromagnetic fields (e.g. welding installations) and would prefer a M8 type.
- If you click on the criterion "Housing: M8" first you will see that the criterion "Environment: Electromagnetic fields" is no longer available. Unfortunately this means that there is no unit with M8 housing which is recommended for use with high electromagnetic fields.
- Now click on "Housing: M12". You will see that the criterion "Environment: Electromagnetic fields" can be selected for this housing.
- After selection of this criterion only 2 units remain.
Via the order number of the units (e.g. IF5670) you can open further information on this item. In addition to the data sheet, the scale drawing and an approval, you will also see information on the suitable accessories.
Your search has come to an end. The suitable socket can also be found there!
Continue to test the selector if you want. Soon you will no longer want to do without it.
Now some tips:
- If you are looking for an explanation of the symbols used in the result list, simply click on the question mark at the left corner of the header of the result list.
- If you have selected too many criteria in the selector or if you do not know how to continue, the selector can be reset to its initial state by pressing the button
.
- Do you need general information on the technology of the units or explanations of technical terms? You can then open our technical glossary directly from the selector by clicking on the button
.
- If you want to compare several data sheets of the result list, click on the respective item number in the result list with the right mouse button and select "Open in New Window".
